Kurt Shipe is a freelance trumpet player based in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. His background includes performances in both commercial and jazz areas.Throughout Mr. Shipe’s professional performing collaborations include performances with Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Haley Reinhardt, Sal Valentinetti, Steve March-Torme, Dave Daminai and the No Vacancy Orchestra, Landau Murphy Jr and the Temptations. Since 2007 he has been a member of the Wisconsin National Guard's 132nd Division Army Band. Staff Sergeant Shipe performs in a variety of the small ensembles that comprise the 132nd Wisconsin National Guard Band as well as conducts the Patriot Jazz Ensemble. 

A founding member of the Oshkosh Jazz Festival, he and his collaborators have worked tirelessly to ensure this festival features current, influential, gifted and talented artists/entertainers of our country, and throughout the world, to the Oshkosh region.

Kurt Shipe has been a student of Randal Sorensen, Marty Robinson and Robert Baca. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
